We just got back from our vacation to Hammock Beach and it was FANTASTIC! It may have been the first vacation that was an actual vacation. All we did was relax and go swimming. It was so nice to spend time with family and just enjoy being there. The resort is AMAZING and I can't wait to go back. Riley even went down the water slide:-) Hopefully i'll get the pics from my sister soon so I can post those. Here are some pics from our lil trip...

Our church won the adult league softball championship this year:-) It was a long hard battle..lol. We had to play 4 games in a row and win every one of them to make it to the championship game. Well, we did and it was off to the CHAMPIONSHIP...& WE WON final score 7-8:-) Here are some pics...

If you've watched the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Great Club House Hunt episode then you understand that title. Spring (we think) is officially here! T-Ball is off to a wonderful start and Spring Training is in full swing. To top of the wonderful month of March our Munchkin' will be turning 6 on Wed..where does all the time go? He is super excited for his b-day party next week and I found some great decorations for the "Gator" bash:) Over this past weekend I heard some heart-breaking news that a friend had lost her cousin in a car accident and that her children were fighting for themselves. The youngest lost her fight last night so I ask for you to pray for these families and that God will grant them peace and understanding. Another thing that has made me upset is the House passing the Health Care Bill, our rights have been stripped by this bill and the fact that the Dems. ignored the American people and passed this piece of Legislation shows me that our country is headed into it's final days. I am not only upset for Chris and I but mostly for Logan & Riley who ill have to pay for this bill and it's huge price tag! I know that God has control of this and that my worry goes to him but I still can't help and get aggravated at the people who voted this monster into office. T-Ball, Test, & I Need Some Rest...

Wow...what a busy time we have been having over the past month! T-ball has started back, baseball season is here..and so is baby season! Everyone is expecting or has already had there precious bundle of joy. Our dear friend Jamie and her husband Mike just had their baby and he is the cutest lil' thing with the biggest feet i've ever seen. I can never remember Logan or Riley being that small! We have some baseball trips coming up and Logan is super excited to be going to games again. School is going good for Logan he is reading really good but still has some mess-ups here and there...it can be so frustrating trying to make him get it and has made me realize that I should never take for granted the fact that I can read. It's hard as a mom watching him struggle with something that I think is so easy, but he is such a big boy and is trying his hardest. T-ball is officially back in action with opening day for Hilliard on Sat., we can't wait to watch those Rebels:-) Logan had two test this week and has his big SAT test all next week..i'm praying so hard for him and knowing that he is going to do his best! My weight loss is going good, I started back weight watchers and it has helped tremendously since I now know how much i'm suppose to be eating. They were telling me I wasn't eating enough, so let me get this straight I need to eat more to lose more..I don't understand this body sometimes. I have been going to the gym and loving it, loving it, loving it..it makes me feel so much better about myself and have more energy through the day. Lil' miss Riley is doing great she is getting ready for her 18 month check up in a few weeks and I can't wait to see how much she has grown! She is talking more and more and learning so many new things. That's a short update on life here at the Burns, i'm hoping to slow down and have more time to update so i'll try my hardest! I would like to express my sorrow for a former classmate and friend Derik....he always knew how to make everyone smile and laugh no matter what they were going through and I just wish he would have reached out to some of us about what he was going through. He was a great person and will surly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know and meet him, but even more by those who called him a friend!

Oh Weight....

Week 1 of the diet really wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I got up to a mile and half walking with slight jogging and really feel so much better! I have stopped drinking the soda other than my occasional Sprite once a week...I need some carbonation! I have been cooking all our meals and we started using our grill ALOT more. It's amazing how cutting certain things out of your daily diet can make you feel so much better physically and emotionally. I really haven't had the craving for all the sweets and really bad things it's been easier to turn them down this time around. I looked into taking a supplement to help get my metabolism going and found Slim Quick rated in the top 10 for woman so i'm giving it a try. It's been almost a week and I can def. see a decrease in my food craving and eating. I know as weeks 3 comes around this wonderful feeling will fade some but I know i'm gonna keep on going until all this weight comes off and my weighting is over:-) Now that I finally have purchased a scale I hope to update on just how much weight is going Bye, Bye, Bye!

Casting Call...

I finally got the chance to listen to my Casting Crowns cd all the way through yesterday, yes I know this is bad since it's been out for 3 months but usually I have to listen to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, or Wonder Pets so I was thrilled to get the chance to go through the whole cd. The Whole World Hears cd is amazing and I love every song. I kept going back to one song #6 Glorious Day...I was truly moved by the song so I wanted to post it.

Today has been my hardest day so far getting on track for the day. Maybe I pushed too hard the past couple days with my new diet by i'm doing sooo good! I am for once in my life very proud of myself and I know it's only the first week but usually by now I have given in at least once. I am doing my walking and feel so much better since starting again, I started with a mile and have made it to a mile and half...my goal is 2 miles next week! The devil has certainly been tempting me, as a perfect example I went through good 'ol McD's yesterday to get Logan some lunch. I ordered him McNuggets w/ apple slices and me just 1 grilled chicken honey mustard wrap, I had my water and some strawberries so I was set (so I thought!) I get Logan all set and then go to look in my bag....duh duh duh a whole 10 piece chicken nugget w/ bbq sauce was sitting there smelling oh so delicious and NO grilled snack wrap. Oh the temptation...but I was good I stuck to it and did not give in! I instead closed the bag and kept picturing what I'm gonna look like after I lose my weight. Since I had no back up plan I swung through Taco Bell and got 1 grilled chicken soft taco w/ just lettuce and light cheese:-) My hubby later demolished the 10 piece so that I couldn't be tempted anymore..*thanks honey, how did they taste? Never mind I DO NOT want to know!* So so far so good on the diet front, and I know this time will power is gonna win over my want power! I have some great new recipes to post so hopefully i'll get them up later today!

My friend Christen had an Upper Case Living party a couple months ago and I bought some things to go in the house. If you know my family then yes my brother-in-law does vinyl lettering and is awesome at it but I was helping out a friend and they had some really neat designs...so I went ahead and bought a few things:-) I LOVE them and they were really easy to put up, I was actually proud of myself for getting them up and even! I didn't get to take a picture of Riley's initials since she was sleeping and I do have one more thing to put in my entry but I need the 12ft. ladder to do that but I did manage to get everything else done, my favorite is the chalkboard for my kitchen as you can see I already put it to use!

I Dare Ya...

Chris and I have been doing the Fireproof 365 day devotional...and it is amazing and has been a blessing to us, we laugh so much at ourselves because it speaks the truth. It has caused us to really think about each other in a new way and because of that we have become closer to each other (which I didn't think was possible) and even closer to God. This weeks dare was to buy something for your spouse to let them know that you were thinking of them...well here is what I bought for my husband:

It's Cuttin' Time...

I've really been contemplating cutting alot of things out of my routine...like fast food, junk food, time spent on the computer (gasp:-), and just all around bad things for me. Starting Monday i'm going on my diet *eek*...I still have my Riley weight to lose & I can't really call it baby weight when my baby is now a toddler:-) So I started with my hair, it is now short! I had it cut to help get rid of my scraggly ends and start with something new & it is much easier and just feels better. I plan on doing a weekly update on my diet progress and diet plan. Chris and I both decided it was time to get back into walking and be healthier for us and our kids. The Hilliard Y is doing a Zumba class on Tues. and I thought about going to try it out and see if I like it..i'm hoping I will! So time to start cutting and hopefully before long everything will be trimmed!

Who You Callin' A Chicken...

So i've had another recipe request, here is a recipe from my mother-in-law for Chicken Chili..it is soooo easy and soooo good:

1- Pack of boneless chicken breast (3-4 breast)
1- BIG container of Rotel tomatoes w/ green chilies
1- BIG container of diced tomatoes
1- Lg. Onion
1- Clove garlic (I used the minced garlic in the glass jar and did 2 tbsp.)
1- Pkg. of the White Chicken Chili Mix (I used McCormick brand)
2- Cans of chili beans mexican style (I used Winn-Dixie brand)
1- Box of low sodium Chicken Broth (reg. size)

-Season chicken with s&p and bake at 350 for about 45 mins.

-Sautee garlic with 2 tbsp. of olive oil on Med. heat for 2-3 mins. add chopped onion and cook for 5-10 mins or until Onion is translucent

-While the chicken is baking and the garlic and onion sauteing dump all the other ingredients into the crock-pot and turn on high

-When the garlic and onion finish cooking dump everything into the crock-pot with other ingredients and stir

-When chicken is done baking, let it cool and pull it apart (I shred mine apart pretty good)

-Add the chicken to the crock-pot and other ingredients, stir

-Cook on high for 2 hours and low for 1 hour

-Stir every so often

We make corn bread muffins (Jiffy brand in the box is the best, sorry mom:-) to go with it or grilled cheese..hope you guys like this one too!

Granny's Pea Pickin'

I made my Granny's Pea Pickin' cake last night and finally got a taste today when I got home. I must say Granny's was the best but i'm running a close second:-) I miss my Granny and her cookin' so much and wish I would have learned alot more form her while I had the chance. I will always have the memories and luckily the recipes;-) Thank You Granny....

For those of you who want the recipe for yourself here it is:

4 eggs
1/2 cup Crisco oil
1- 11oz. can of mandarin oranges (I couldn't find an 11oz. can so I used 15)
1- Box of Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1- Lg. Cool Whip
1- #2 can of crushed pineapple in heavy syrup (I asked my mom what #2 was and it's the regular size, they used to call them #2 cans:-)
1- Lg. box of instant vanilla pudding

Cake-
Beat eggs well. Add oil, mandarin oranges (with juice), and cake mix. Blend well; beat 2 mins. at high speed with hand mixer. Grease and lightly flour 3 round 8 1/2 or 9 1/2 layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Cool all layers before spreading filling.

Filling-
Use large bowl. Dump pineapple with juice in bowl. Add pudding mix and blend well. Add cool whip and beat by hand until fluffy. Spread on cooled layers, top and sides. Put in cake holder and cover. Refrigerate overnight....

2010 Let It Begin...

Wow..2009 is gone and a new year has begun, where to even start! We accomplished alot in 2009 and had many first in our family. We moved into our first house in April and I love everything about it! Chris and I celebrated out first wedding anniversary and I love him more everyday (even when he is aggravating:-) Our baby celebrated her first birthday, and our munchkin went to his first "real" grade in school. The best thing about 2009 was our families growth toward God and finally finding our home church and church family! I have grown so much in the past year and hope to only continue that growth into 2010. Chris and I have become better parents and better people just by growing in God. I look forward to "our" time with our devotional every night and have learned the true meaning to having a soul mate and husband who I love with all my heart and soul. I hope to only continue to grow and prosper in 2010...Happy New Year Everyone!

Holidays Come & Go...

Family always remains..with new births and even new deaths the one constant we will have every year is that we have our family to share our holidays with. We had a very blessed Christmas around our household and I could not have asked for anything better. We went a lil' smaller on the presents this year (except for the grandparents) and focused more on the true meaning of the holidays and Christmas. We were having a conversation in the car and Logan said "but Santa brings us presents" and I said "yes but Jesus gives us everlasting life and that is the best present ever" so I knew this Christmas we would focus on that fact and give Jesus a proper birthday celebration! Can This Be True...

Ahhh has it really been since September that I have blogged! Time def. doesn't stand still. We have so many things going on and been traveling so much with football that I have totally slacked in my blogging duties. I will go back to Oct. to update...Riley turned 1 on Oct. 3rd and has grown so much that she is no longer our lil' baby but our lil' girl. It makes me and Chris so upset that she is getting so big but at the same time we love seeing all the new things she is learning and doing. Halloween was fun we went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party and had a blast as we always do at Disney. November was spent getting prepared for the holiday season..I mean I was ready to start decorating the 2nd week we were in Nov. but my husband wouldn't allow it so I waited until the 3rd LOL:-) Now we are in Dec. and I cannot honestly believe how fast this year has went by! I am thankful that football season is coming to a close (most of you are shocked I know) but we went to every single game except LSU so i'm a lil' worn out and ready to be home for a full weekend. This Christmas will be our first Christmas in our new house and I am loving it..the whole house is decorated and it feels so great to make a fire in a real fireplace and lay in front of it! I have completed all my Christmas shopping (go me) minus my husband but something for the Gators, Eagles or Rays and we're all good (thank goodness he isn't complicated:-) Church has been wonderful I am loving my Bible Study group and all the ladies in it, we have a good time. I am being (re)Baptised tonight and cannot wait! As I start looking back on the year it's amazing what God has done in my life and I cannot thank Him enough for all his blessings. Almost one year ago in Dec./Jan. God would give me and Chris one of the biggest blessings ever our daughter Riley...which just so happened to be while we were in Orlando for the Gators playing in the Capital One Bowl in 2007/2008 since it was New Years:-) We didn't know what God was doing then, but we do now and we thank him so much for showing us His love and giving us all our many blessings! I am looking forward to this upcoming week..we are headed to Orlando since Logan has a half-day of school on Friday since Trinity is headed to the State playoffs Go Trinity..TCA ALL THE WAY:-) we will be headed to Disney for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas & Sea World! I got a new camera which i'm loving it's a SLR so i'm trying to get use to it but so far so good and I promise lots of picture updates on the upcoming post. I am not promising to keep this updated every day like I use to but I am going to try and keep it updated at least once a week (I hope) so until then hope everyone has has a great weekend and hopefully a great upcoming week!

Blogging Blackout...

It feels like forever since I have blogged...with school back in full swing and the start of football season I have been very absent lately. I'm getting back into the routine so hopefully I will back to normal updates:-) So here are our happenings from the past couple weeks..Logan is loving school and learning so much it is amazing, Riley is almost fully walking around and has her 1st birthday coming up on Oct. 3rd (talk about time flying), we started the 2009 Gator Football Season and have been to 2 games already but looking forward to the next one the most (Tenn. on the 19th) and then our trip to Kentucky after that, this past week was revival at our church First Baptist Church of Boulougne and it was nothing short of AMAZING...Rick Coram is an awesome man of God and blessed us so much! We bought 4 of his cd's with his sermons on them so that we can always go back and listen to them, talk about someone who has been givin the gift to bring people to God...words cannot describe it. We have been having so much fun the past couple weeks with everything and been blessed so much by revival. We have also had some bad news though and not wanting to go into detail just asking for everyone's prayers and knowing that everything is in HIS will and we will make it through with Gods grace and presence. I do have to buckle down and get Riley's party all in order i'm hoping to have invitations go out tomorrow and then it's just ordering the supplies and hoping for some very nice weather.

One Amazing Year...

Amazing is the word that can sum up the past year of my life as of Aug. 16, 2008. That was the day I married my wonderful husband, now he can be a pain at times..LOL but I wouldn't change him for the world:-) The past year I have gotten married and married into the best family, had our cute as a button baby girl, watched our lil' munchkin start school at Trinity, found a church home for our family, got to meet my FAVORITE band in the world Rascal Flatts, and journeyed to Miami to watch the Gators win the 2008 National Championship! It had been such a great year filled with so many memories...I can't wait to see what the many years to come have to offer us! I Love You Christopher Lee Burns, thank you for the best year of my life (so far).....

I have been so busy trying to get everything ready for Logan's return to school (Kindergarten) to be exact that I have been totally slacking on my blogging. So far this month, I have celebrated my 1st Anniversary:-) with the best hubby ever! Our lil' man has started K5 and he is so excited to be back in school, he already had his monthly Bible verse memorized and it's only been 1 week. Riley had her ear tube check up and everything was A-OK, she has been so happy and sleeping so much better since her tubes. Looking forward into next month we are busy, busy, busy...we have the start of GATOR FOOTBALL SEASON *YEAH*, we can't wait! I am also planning Riley's 1st birthday party, I already have the invitations and cake lined up just have to get the decorations and food in order. We can't believe that out lil' baby will be 1 year old in a month oh how time flies! Here are some pictures from the past month...

Wow..my 100th post! I cannot believe it's been almost a year since I started blogging and it has been a great journey. Being able to share our stories and life with all of you has been a blessing and we cannot wait to see where the road keeps leading us. On another high note: last night was the Rascal Flatts concert....now Rascal Flatts is my FAVORITE band and everytime they have been here I haven't been able to go see them. When we found out they were making a stop here I was so excited but my husband said he didn't want to go. I was bummed but then the day the tix. went on sale for the fan club vip, my wonderful husband got us 2 tickets:-) We put in for meet and greets and got those too...whoo I was ecstatic that I would get to meet them! Last night was AMAZING, Darius Rucker opened up the show and was really good he even played some Hootie & The Blowfish songs...I got to meet the guys, our seats were on the 9th row and the show was beyond anything I expected....I had such a great time and I can't thank my hubby enough!

My child did not walk out of this house and get into the car with no shoes or socks on on our way to a surprise birthday party..(I guess it was us who got the surprise)

Our munchkin does not cry almost every single time he has to come back home with us from being with Papa all weekend.

Our child does not beg to watch Spongebob all day long and all night, and we of course do not allow that just because it keeps him from driving us nuts:-)

Our munchkin did not take marker and write all over his new furniture and on the bathroom counter...(which I still can't get to come off)

Our lil' girl will not scream whenever me or her daddy gets up to walk out the room ( I refuse to believe she is that attached to us:-)

Our child does not put on my bras and ask why he doesn't have boobies and then proceed to say he sometimes wants to be...just like me:-) (I know this is a phase but I'm not looking forward to the talks that are in our future)

Lastly, our children are not the best things to ever happen to us and we do not thank God everyday for blessing us with two beautiful, wonderful, and glorious children!

Today was just that, we had a wonderful message at church this morning & evening based off 1 Corinthians 13:4-7....which is my favorite verse form the Bible. Bro. Bob made me realize the true meaning behind every word in it. After we arrived home we went over to mom and dad's for lunch...I actually got the whole yard mowed and still had time to relax while my husband made me dinner:-) The playset was delivered yesterday and it took all day to put together, so we missed seeing the finished product because we had to go to Kingsland for Caydes b-day party...which by the way was so much fun! There are still a few things to be added to the playset so it's not the final product yet, but getting there. So, we got to see it this morning and it is awesome! Logan loves it and Riley even had a good time swinging and sliding (her first time) and then tonight was topped off with ice cream at Papa and Grammie's...which was another first for Riley (and she couldn't get enough) here are some pics from today...

yesterday was Riley's first time with pig-tails:-) She is so funny and really liked being able to reach up and feel her hair..lol! Logan and Riley's playset will be here tomorrow and he is SO excited..i'll post some pictures of them playing on it as soon as I can. Not Me Monday...

Getting back into the tradition of NMM's here is this weeks post of things I most certainly did not do:

I did not enjoy having all my family down from all the different states in which they came from..who would enjoy that:-)

I have not eaten some of the best food I have had in such a long time all week...and have not enjoyed eating it all day everyday! (that would just be too good to be true!)

Logan did not stay over at Papa and Grammi's all week during the reunion...and this house did not stay quiet or clean because of it:-) How could a 5 year old be messy anyway..lol

I did not find it disturbing that so many well-known people passed away all within 2 weeks of each other...so sad!

I won't miss any of family as they all start leaving tomorrow to head back home, and won't miss seeing them for another 2 years!

Last but not least....I did not like having all this time to spend with family and friends and won't miss it one bit, nope NOT ME!

If you were wondering where I have been for the past week I have been enjoying my family from all around:-) We had out family reunion here in Florida this year and it was so much fun. I love being getting to see everyone and how much they have changed over the years! We have been everywhere and going non-stop since they arrived last Sunday. So, for our Fourth of July we went to the Coke Zero 400 down in Daytona. It was really, really, really hot but so much fun! I'm not going to do a big long post because most of it is going to be pictures. My man Tony won which made it even better and Chris's man Denny came in 3rd so it was a really good night...best thing to happen though was Kyle going into the wall in the last lap:-) Isn't it bad when everyone cheers when you wreck...:-) Here's some pics, hope you guys enjoy:

While we were in Orlando we decided to hit up Sea World..why you ask because we're crazy, I mean Floridians should know better:-) It was sooo HOT but we managed to have a really good time! We ate with Shamu and got to feed and pet the Dolphins...that is all that Logan wanted to do and he didn't stop asking until we finally got to feed them! Logan hasn't been since he was 2, so it was great for him to actually go and get to do things. We made it through the day with no heat exhaustion or sunburn:-) Here's our whale of a good time...

Spongebob Squarepants & our son if we would let him! He LOVES that lil' yellow square..so we planned a trip to the Nickelodeon Hotel down in Orlando. Logan could not have been more excited..all he wanted to do was meet Spongebob! We stayed in a Spongebob room and had Spongebob cookies with milk at night before bed...me and Chris were tired of seeing yellow squares by the time we left:-) It was a blast and Logan had such a great time, here are some pics. from the trip (must warn you there is alot of Yellow:-)

Our New Church Home...

This morning we proudly became new members of the First Baptist Church of Boulougne, Bro. Kris the youth pastor at Boulougne was Chris's youth pastor when he attended Ephesus Baptist and was a major reason we started attending and we can't thank him enough for the prayers and time he spent with us in helping us try to find our family's "home church"..thank you Bro. Kris. He also married me and Chris so he will always hold a special place in my heart. It's nice to finally belong to a church and know that we grow in Christ even more as a family...Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Toothie Breakthrough....

Well, my blogging has been lacking to say the least. With the end of school, t-ball and the colds my children seem to be getting over it's been hard to find time to sit down and have time to write. Now for the *biggest* announcement of this week...Riley finally has her first tooth *shrill of excitement* YEAH! I went to put her Orajel on her gums this morning before going to church and I felt it:-) We are so excited and all over this little tooth but hey she's been working on them for 8 months so this is big for us. On the ear front, Riley is finally getting her referral for the ENT! She still has fluid so the Dr. is going ahead with the tubes and since she has a cold right now it's only a matter of time the doctor said before her ear gets re-infected. We are also happy with the decision to go ahead and have her gets tubes, we know we tried everything before turning to surgery so we know we done all we could. Things on the Riley front are defiantly looking up, she's now 8 months and getting so BIG, she standing with help and letting go. She doesn't attempt to walk but she does stand by herself for a good minute...it's progress. Logan is done with school and t-ball so now to find something for the summer, he has way too much energy to be inside all day so i'm looking for a summer activity for him. He's such a mess and is growing like a weed...not to mention he has been such a wonderful big brother and helps me out tremendously. That's about all the updates lately....hope everyone has a wonderful kickoff to the summer season!

Rocephin Was A Blessin'...

I took Riley back to the doctor Friday for her re-check with her ear infection after she had gotten her 3 Rocephin shots. The shots were not fun and hurt her so bad...I felt so bad knowing there was nothing I could do to ease her pain. Well, the re-check answered my prayers her ear infection was gone so the shots were worth it (for now) anyway. If Riley gets another infection or still has fluid then it's off to the ENT. She has had a slight fever the past few days and i'm praying it's just her teeth and not another infection coming on. I take Logan this week for his re-check for his infection so i'm going to have the Dr. check Riley's while i'm there. Hopefully Logan and Riley will be free and clear!

A Grandmother's Day...

Today was Mother's Day and like most I had a wonderful day. I wanted to make today more than just about me and about all the mother's in the family. So, me and Chris went to one of the hardest places for his family to go..to visit his Nanny at Edgewood Cemetery. I never got to meet his nanny as she passed away before we ever met but not a day goes by that I don't wish I would have gotten that opportunity and chance to even just tell her hello. Chris loved his nanny so much and apart form us and his mom and dad she was the one person that he loved most in his life. He misses her so much and mentions something about her at least once a day. She must have been such a wonderful and endearing woman for them to love her that way. I don't only wish that I could have met her but also that she would have gotten to meet Logan and Riley too...everyone says how much she would have loved them to pieces. It breaks my heart to see him when we visit as it's not an easy task for him and doesn't handle it well, but we pray and know that she's looking down and watching us every day. I had a stone personalized for her, so we took it out today and gave it to her. On days like this we are so thankful for those who take care of us and mean so much to us..so today was more than mother's day we made it "Nanny's Day" and celebrated her life she lived and how much she meant to those who knew her and like me even those who didn't. I do have something to look forward to and that is that day I finally get to meet her and see her face and tell her what a wonderful family she raised and how much they love her, especially her grandson! So, until that day i'll keep thinking of her and sharing her with her great-grandkids and looking forward to that first official meeting....

Riley turned 7 months on the 3rd and she still doesn't have any teeth. I know they say the longer they take to come in the healthier they are. My girls teeth must be something spectacular then. Logan had his teeth starting at around 5 months, but no such luck with Riley. I feel bad because I want to give her so many different things but without teeth she can't bite them. So, we sit and wait patiently for those little pearly whites to start poking through...until then I guess we'll stick to the dissolving snacks! On a high note I do have to say that when she smiles her "gummy" smile and looks like a grandma without her dentures, it's the cutest things in the world:)

So, after a re-check visit today Riley has another infection in her ear even worse than it was before and that's after the antibiotics! I a little sleep deprived and already at wits end with her ear infections. I know they have to have so many infections or so many weeks of fluid before they recommend tubes, Logan had to have them and they were a blessing it was one of the best things for him. Logan didn't have another ear infection and matter of fact still hasn't had one! I know tubes are in her future since it's always the left ear and the doctor already said her eustachian tube in that ear just isn't positioned right yet so long story short Riley will eventually get tubes. It seems like were just waiting for that magical number so they can send us. The aggravation part of my story comes next we dropped of Riley's RX at CVS to get it filled and then visited the in-laws while we waited. We got home and I went to give her her medicine and it was still powder..they FORGOT to mix it. Now, normally this wouldn't make me mad but having to drive back to Callahan to get it fixed and then back home after already not sleeping for 3 nights it not my idea of a good time. So, hopefully the medicine will clear up the infection this time and maybe soon we'll end out trips to the doctors office every 2 weeks to check her ears. Praying she feels better tomorrow...

Now that it has taken me an hour to finally get my pictures loaded, I don't have much time for this post since Logan has a t-ball game at 6. So, i'll make it short and sweet...Riley will be turning 7 months on Sunday, May 3rd and the lil' booger is everywhere:) She has finally started "fully" crawling and not just scooting and today for the first time she PULLED UP! I know nothing too major but she's getting SO big, SO fast. I can't fathom that she is going to be 1 year old in only 5 months, where has all the time gone? I took some pictures this weekend of her first official four-wheeler ride, she loved it..she's an outdoor gal and was talking and laughing the whole time. I also took some pictures of her pulling up and standing up in her crib. I get so busy that I lose track of time sometimes and watching how big Riley's getting and everything she is starting to do, makes me want to slow down and enjoy every second of her being this little. It won't be long and she'll be having t-ball games:) Well..there you have it, short & sweet now off to t-ball with Logan...Go Lil' Rebels! Long Time Coming...

Whew has it been a while! It seems like so long since I have wrote anything and updated everyone. We are finally all moved in and mostly settled, we have a few lagging things to be moved over but for the most part everything is here. I have slacked so much that I haven't even wrote since Logan's 5th birthday which was wonderful I can't believe our lil' man is 5 years old! Easter was also so much fun. We finally got out Internet up and everything connected so that I can upload pictures YAY! I'm not gonna do a huge upload but i'll put on a new pic of Riley and a few pictures of the rooms that are fully complete. The entry and the dining and play room are the only ones that have decorating finished. It's such a blessing to finally be living here and almost everyday I can't believe that this is our house. Logan has a t-ball game today so I can't spend too much time here but just wanted to post a few pictures and also say that from now I should be back to my normal blogging self, and not have such a long drought again! Also Congrats to a dear friend who found out they are having a baby GIRL....SO excited!

Slow & Steady...

The house is slowly getting there...the counter tops and plumbing fixtures are the only things left to put on. The hardwood and carpet is the last thing to go in, so hopefully within a couple weeks that can be accomplished and we can officially have move in day. Batter Up...

Logan's room took longer than Riley's and after seeing it you will understand why, the mural looks so much like the picture I gave Mrs. Margie just with some personal touches. Logan had to be a Ray's player since Chris has brainwashed him..lol:) I'm a Yankee so we had to make the pitcher a Yankee...it's a family feud, but we love it. I had Margie put Logan's name on the back and then home run bubba since that's what my nieces call him and i'm sure what Riley will end up calling him as well. We made the scoreboard with chalkboard paint so Logan could write in the scores from games during the season and his t-ball team if he wanted to, it turned out so good. The mural turned out better than I could have imagined, Mrs. Margie is so great and so talented. The playroom is next and will be done after this week..it's going to be Dr. Seuss and we cannot wait to see how it turns out!

So, this week has been so busy that I haven't had time to post from last weekend....not to mention missing Not-Me-Monday and Wordless Wednesday (again)! Here's a catch-up from all the week...last weekend we went to Orlando and Universal for my birthday. Logan was suppose to join us but then decided to go to his dad's for the weekend so I thought that was ok and fine and would give me and Chris some alone time too. So, on Friday after t-ball practice Logan calls and wants to come home...we're in Palm Coast so after debating and asking Logan what he wanted to, he wanted to go Mr. Rays & Mrs. Gina's (Chris's parents) to be with Riley. Problem solved...I would like to add by asking don't you just love when people think they just know the truth and everything that goes along with it..yeah me too it's like they try to be another mother and when you try to explain what really happened and the truth about the situation...they don't even listen because they know THEY are RIGHT and THEY KNOW what REALLY happened....yeah I love it too happens to me ALL the time! Back to the weekend..we had alot of fun we missed having Logan with us because he would have had a blast but we still enjoyed ourselves. After we returned home Riley's cold had stayed the same so no big deal, the next night she was really stopped up so off to the doctor. The doctor said that she was clear in the lungs and ears so nothing they could do, just to give it a few days. Yesterday she was still stopped up so I made another appointment *just had a feeling* so after checking her out lungs still clear, right ear is clear...left ear INFECTION! Riley finally got some antibiotics to take so hopefully within a couple days she'll be all cleared up. She hasn't been fussy with it or even running a fever so mother intuition was right again:) We have also spent the week trying to get everything boxed up that we can and trying to get as much done as possible so when moving day arrives we don't have too much confusion. I'm still trying to get my bag tag done that Amy T gave me and I promise to have it posted by the end of the weekend! As for now, off to try and get stuff done around this house...Here's some pics from the weekend:)

I look back to when I was in high school and how much fun it was and how we had nothing to worry about, what we did worry about seems so small in comparison to what worries we have today. When I was younger my dad would always tell me he would give anything to just be back in school and I thought he was CRAZY, I do wish for those care-free days again but I am so happy with where i'm at in life right now and with my family that I wouldn't trade them for anything...even if it was to go back to those worry free days. I have the best husband in the world and two of the greatest blessings in my life, they are the reason for my living and breathing everyday! So, as I turn 26 today I look forward to 30 and then 40 and *lil cringe* 50:) I have learned many lessons in my life and I look forward to those to be learned in my future. Oh I almost forgot my birthday present....my husband bought me some diamond earrings for my birthday and they are beautiful i'll post a picture of them. I was wanting a pair to stay in my second holes and he picked a perfect pair, they are white gold princess cut solitaires and I LOVE THEM! I told you I have a wonderful husband:) Now off to celebrate turning 26!

I love my blogging but lately I have been slacking...I find myself wanting to post but just run outta time and energy by the end of the day that I don't ever get around to it. So, since I have been up since 4:00 this morning with my sick baby who now has the cold everyone else caught I decided it was time for updates. Logan started t-ball this past week and had his first official day of practice on Tues. he LOVED it, he did not stop beaming the whole time! Riley is growing like a weed but like I said has caught this awful cold that seems to be going around so hopefully a lil' tender living care and she'll be over it and back to being herself. The house is near completion...countertops are the last major thing to be installed other than the appliances and those will be going in next week, we are so very excited to finally be moving in! I will try and get some pictures of the house over the weekend to put up and show the progress. We have just been enjoying and loving life and are so thankful for everything we have been blessed with. That's about all I have to update with i'll be doing a couple more post to try and catch up a lil' on my major slacking!

I picked up my copy of Fireproof from LifeWay on the 27th and I couldn't wait to watch it, I kept hearing what a great movie it was. That night me and Chris watched it and loved it! It's an awesome movie...it has a great message and purpose to it. I would recommend that everyone see it, especially if your married. I know alot of the local churches around here are showing it on Sun Feb. 15th, so I encourage you if you don't buy the dvd to go watch it. It shows that by putting your faith in God and obeying him that amazing things can happen in you and around you, and if your a non-believer it can turn you into one. The movie shows that you should forget the past and look to the future and be thankful for what you have, don't dwell on the things you don't. There is a reason why God does what he does...he knows what is best for us and if we listen and put our faith in him anything is possible, because you never leave your partner esepcially in a fire!

I am so excited to be posting again, so without haste here are things I have not done...

I did not almost go crazy not having Internet for 2 weeks, it's amazing how much you can't miss something like that:)

I did not forget that I had a load of laundry in the washer for a day, and then have to re-wash them.

I have not cooked dinner all week and not gotten take out, I know it's shocking!

I have not been walking over to the house everyday to see what else has been done, and counting down the days to move in.

Lastly, I am not thankful for my wonderful husband who has not made me so happy these past weeks, nope not one bit:)

Crash...

Our computer at home got a virus, from where we don't know but it has decided to crash. I haven't updated in over a week and that is the reason why but hopefully by the beginning off next week we wil have it fixed and be back up and running again. In the meantime I will try and update via my i-phone or laptop. It's amazing how much you miss blogging when you can't do it! I hope everyone a great rest of the week.

What a week it has been...so here's what all I didn't do;)

I did not order 2 dozen rock shrimp at Dixie Crossroads when we stopped to eat, telling myself that I wasn't going to eat them all and Chris could have my extra.

I did not eat them all:)

I did not enjoy or trip to Miami and the National Championship Game...and I absolutely did not love to watch the Gators win, and if you know me then you know that's true;)

I'm not looking forward to Logan's second open house at Trinity tomorrow night, and I have not procrastinated about getting something to take for the bake sale.

I am not looking forward to a cup of hot chocolate in a couple hours because it is finally cold enough to actually have one.

Most of all, I did not have a wonderful week and weekend and i'm not looking forward to the ones ahead with my family!

Cereal Killer...

Yesterday was Riley's first spoon fed cereal, and she did great! She has been having rice cereal in her bottles before bed but she hadn't had any spoon fed to her yet, so we gave it a go. She loved it so much that today we upgraded to some oatmeal flavored with bananas. We had to make a trip to Wally-World to get her some actual baby food, so today for lunch she had sweet potatoes and then bananas for dessert. She is loving being able to eat some actual food. For about the past week she just hasn't seemed really satisfied with her formula so I knew it was time to start the baby food. I told myself that Sat. morning we would start and see how she did with it. It's amazing how much better she has been during the day and how much more satisfied she is. She is also teething which has been another reason for her being so fussy, but I think it's mainly because she was wanting something else to help fill her up. So we have now officially entered the baby food and teething realm of life, the next big step is sitting up so we'll see where it goes from here!

2008 National Champions...

Wed. afternoon we loaded up and headed south to Miami for the National Championship Game. We made a stop in Titusville to eat at Dixie Crossroads and it was soooo good! We arrived in Jupiter at about 8:30 and got settled in. There was a McDonald's right next to the hotel so we ran over to get a snack then back to the hotel where we watched a movie and off to bed we went. We got up Thur. morning at about 11 and started getting ready, we planned on leaving about noon to be at the Tailgate party about 2:30. We stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat since we figured it was going to our best meal all day. We arrived at Dolphin Stadium right at 2:30, we had a parking pass so it wasn't too bad of a walk about a mile or so. We parked and headed to the stadium, on the way I stepped in a pot hole and sprained my ankle...yeah I know it was bad but I limped my happy butt all the way. The tailgate party was ok, we got to see the band perform and see some old Gator players. My ankle really wasn't hurting too bad since I had been walking on it for a while so I was happy about that. We got some t-shirts and some other souvenirs and walked back to the stadium and waited for the gates to open. Gates opened at 6 and we went to the seats, we watched warm ups and finally at 8:14 it was kickoff. Our seats which we thought were the Gator section ended up being the Oklahoma section, but it wasn't too bad we had the front row and the Gator section was right next to us so it could have been much worse. Utah fans were on the left of us and I had a nice younger girl and her father next to me. We had some obnoxious drunk OU fans behind us but for the most part they were tolerable. I have lost respect for OU though after seeing how their fans can be and then the players on the field how they acted and ran their mouths when they didn't need to be especially since they were losing! Our night ended with the Gators winning and becoming 2008 National Champions and it could not have been more worth it. I have never been so stressed over a game but after Tebow's jump pass and we went up by ten I was able to relax which was only fr about 5 minutes but at least I got to really enjoy the end of the game. We got back to the hotel about 3, took a shower and went to bed. We woke up at about 11 and headed out by noon, we were all so exhausted and tired but on the way to our home sweet home. My ankle was swollen and killing me but it was all worth it, we grabbed a quick lunch at Steak-n-Shake and got back on the road...we arrived home at about 5:30 and got to sit down and watch a re-play of the game. It was defiantly the trip of a lifetime and a great experience. We had such a good time and will never forget it...can't wait for next football season only 8 months to go! I have tons of pictures..I posted them on my myspace so if you wanna see them all they're there:)

Well, we are finally back home...Miami was a blast it had some good and bad things to it. The Oklahoma fans weren't so great but the game was AWESOME! I'm on the in-laws laptop since we're having dinner over here but as soon as we get home,or maybe in the morning since we're so exhausted I will def. be posting full details and lots of pictures. It was an expiernace and chance of a lifetime to go to the National Championship Game and it was well worth everything. We had such a good time together....so I will leave with more post to come and a proud GO GATORS...National Champions!

Well since I missed last Monday and haven't been really in-tuned with my blogging the past week here is a couple weeks worth of me...not being me!

I'll start with the fact that I did not just yesterday on the fourth day of month start taking down my Christmas decorations when I usually have this done by the 2nd.

I did not spend three days in bed with a BAD virus that left me out of toilet paper and trash bags!

In the three days I spent in bed I did not enjoy getting to sleep...even though it may not have been very good sleep, but sleep non-theless.

I did not forget to buy milk of all things yesterday when we made a trip to the store and I did not want a bowl of cereal sooo bad last night but no avail.

Me and Chris did not drive to THREE diffrent stores yesterday looking for a cradel cap kit so that we do Riley's hair...and did any of three have it, i'll let you figure it out.

I did not enjoy getting to ride four-wheelers with my son over Christmas vaction.

Lastly, I did not have a wonderful Christmas with my husband, son and daughter...we did not enjoy it at ALL!

Life In 2008...

Well, i'll start from the beginning Jan. 1, 2008 me and Chris were in Orlando for the Capital One Bowl in which Florida was playing Michigan. We spent New Years counting down to the ball drop and we were having a great time. The night before was one of the most difficult and worst nights in our relationship...and if you know me and or us then you know what happened. That was the night that God def. took my life down the path he wanted me to take, because on Dec.31-Jan1..is the night that Riley came around. Looking back I would say Jan. was the turning point in my life, on Jan. 31, 2008 I found out I was pregnant! The rest of the year has gone by so fast...in Feb. it was my birthday and I turned 25 wow half of 50. March was Logan's birthday and our spring training trip. April was Chris's birthday, and the then we did't have anything major until after summer. August was packed Logan started BIG boy school, football season started GO GATORS, and the most important I married the man I love with all my heart, my husband Christopher Lee Burns and I could not have been happier and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him! September was spent with school, football and starting on our house. October 3, 2008 our daughter Riley Eleanor Burns was born, and our family was complete. November and December were filled with holidays, friends and family.I wouldn't change anything in 2008, God has truly blessed me and my family. I can' wait to see what 2009 has in store for us, we're waiting with open arms!

A Virus New Year...

So I said I was going to have to take care of my husband..boy was I WRONG! We both ended up getting sick and catching this virus. We we're both up all night going back and forth to the bathroom, thank goodness we didn't have to go at the same time! Luckily Logan was already staying with mom and dad, so Riley was the only one here and she slept till 6. I called mom to come get her so that way she would be out of the house and far..far..far away from the germs. Chris's mom and dad came and picked her up from there and kept her last night for us..i'm so luckily to have wonderful in-laws! So our New Years Eve consisted of sleeping, since we didn't sleep a wink the night before. We are much better today and are only sore from the many trips to the bathroom...I must say it's the first time I have to take a trash bag with me to the bathroom, not fun. So since we're resting today hopefully we'll be feeling 100% by tomorrow o at least i'm praying we do. I didn't get my new years kiss until 12:25 because we slept through midnight...:) Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope that 2009 will being happiness and joy! I'll try and do my year in review later if not it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Baby Stellan is still in limbo and the famiy is waiting to see how he is going to fair. With the lastest update from MckMama, she slept ok last night and Stellan stayed the same. I know God is comforting them and pray that he will continue to grant them peace and see baby Stellan through it all!

We Have Roll-Over & Roto Virus...

I haven't blogged about events for a couple of weeks now...so we'll start from the first BIG event, Riley rolled over! She rolled over (with her trying) a few days before Christmas at 3 months. Now, since she has figured out how to roll, she's rolling everywhere and so now it's a watchful eye ALL the time. The day after Christmas everyone around here caught the Roto Virus, so the lucky few who haven't so far include me, Chris, Riley....Logan was the latest victim. Luckily he wasn't that bad and is feeling much better today. Riley also slept in her crib for the first time and she was so comfortable, she slept until 9:30! Chris was a little upset that his baby girl was leaving our room...but he did much better last night with it. Everything else around here is pretty much the same. Yeah now that I actually have a little bit of time to sit down and type I can get back to my blogging. I'll start where we left off, Christmas...it was great this year as always! We started off the morning with Riley having her first Christmas ever and we couldn't wait to see what Santa had brought her:) We hen finished up presents over here and headed to the in-laws for lunch and gifts. Logan had a blast over there...he got a basketball goal and a basketball just his size, and it was warm enough he got to go out and play. We ate lunch and came back to my mom and dads for the biggest present of all, Logan's new fourwheeler! He was soooo excited, so we finished up our day there. It was a great Christmas and we cannot wait for next year. We have tons of pictures but i'll only post a few so here we go...

A wonderful mother...your a wonderful mother already, even though you may not be able to hold that baby in your arms....you are a wonderful mother. The struggle you go through makes you a wonderful mother, and will make you a an even better mother than most. Some of us have it so easy while other's have to struggle, we ask God why this is and never hear an answer but get to see it when you look at your baby in your arms. You are meant to be a mother, and will be, on God's time and by his will. All of the time and effort you put into trying to have a baby, makes you a wonderful mother. You are a pillar of strength and sometimes I wish I was as strong as you. I know you wonder if it will ever happen and why it is so hard for you...but in the end you will you find your answer. So, to this wonderful mother I offer my hopes and prayers everyday until God sees it fit to give you your little miracle. Just know that you are and always will be a wonderful mother!

Ok, so it's time for Not Me Monday again...I missed last Monday so I figured I better get my act together today so here we go:

I did not find myself standing in line last night for an hour and half to see Santa, and then to top it all off he did not take a 30 min break when we got sooo close but yet so far...so I did not say forget it and leave!

Yet again I did not go tonight to stand in line for Santa, again, but this time it did not only take 15 min. and I was not kicking myself for not waiting until tonight to go!

I am not dreading the next few days (slightly) only because it's going to be crazy, chaotic, confusing and did I say CRAZY:)

Of course i'm not just now about to eat dinner at 9:30 due to our Santa excursion (see above) and I am soooo not looking forward to having my head hit that pillow and getting to go to sleep....whew;)

Fireproof...

If you've been in Lifeway during the past few months you have probably noticed pre-sales for the dvd called Fireproof. It is getting released mid-January and I cannot wait! The movie is form the same creators of Facing the Giants and Flywheel, it's a movie about a firefighter who is in a failing marriage and is willing to leave it behind. His father gives him a challenge that opens his (Caleb Holt’s played by Kirk Cameron) eyes to the love he has at home and the love he has in Christ. It is a great story and I cannot wait for it to finally be on dvd! It also has a guide (book) that is the 40 day challenge Caleb's father made him do in the movie. It has some awesome verses and advice that you take in and keep with you for the rest of your life & marriage. I believe it's a great tool to have and share especially with your husband/wife. I pray that me and Chris NEVER get to the point in our marriage where we feel like it's lost but it is nice to know that if it ever does, we can look back and remember what we learned from the book and movie: that with Christ in your life & marriage nothing is doomed to fail! We Have Bumbo...

I have been wanting to get Riley a Bumbo seat because at 2 1/2 months the child is already trying to sit up. She only likes to be on her back for 2 reasons: a diaper and to sleep, at least she doesn't mind for those which is nice:) So, I went on the hunt for a Bumbo seat today and found one at Target. I got the last pink one they had, now the cost wasn't too bad for a piece of soft plastic but it could have been a little less. All in all it wasn't a bank breaker so I bought it...so we got home and I opened the box took out the new throne and on it our princess sat, and she... LOVED it! Not that I don't love holding her so she can sit up, but sometimes when I need to do bottles and her swing or Boppy seat aren't working I have to hold her. This is the perfect solution and we couldn't be happier with the results. She has already been sitting in her seat watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...which she likes because of the colors. Of course being the picture hog I am I had to take some pictures so I could share...

Not Me Monday...

Ugh...after a long...long...long Monday here is a list of things that I Have NOT Done:)

I did not spend the whole weekend avoiding the house chores because to tell you the truth the piles of laundry and dishes kinda scared me!

Me of all people absolutely did not enjoy getting to dress up and spend the night out with friends on Sat. to celebrate Jamie's graduation.

I didn't jump for joy today when we got to finally finish the cabinets, pay for them and have them ordered to be delivered in 5 weeks...YEAH:)

Lastly I am not fixing to make me some hot chocolate (with milk) even though it's not cold outside...just because I really want some...Me...NEVER:)
